Heart Band. The Wilson sisters were the first women to front a hard rock band, and “pioneers … that inspired women to pick up an electric guitar or start a band.” The band began “a revolution for women in music … breaking genre barriers and garnering critical acclaim.”
The Audible Kitchen – “Heart Month” Hummus.
Hummus Recipe: ▪ 1 15 ounce can garbanzo beans ▪ 1/2 cup sesame tahini ▪ 2-3 tablespoons lemon juice ▪ 2 garlic cloves, peeled ▪ 1/2 teaspoon salt ▪ up to 2/3 cup water
Rinse the garbanzo beans. Place them in food processor and grind. While grinding, add sesame tahini. Toss in the garlic.
Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice. Stop the grinder and taste the mixture. If it tastes ‘flat’ add a little more lemon juice. Add the salt (or add later to taste.) Start adding the water a little at a time and continue processing until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.
Customize your hummus! Add basil, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, eggplant, scallions, kalamata olives or ???
Chill and serve with pita chips, crackers, flat bread or spread it on a wrap loaded with your favourite vegetable mix.
