Hear Dilyana Mileva: Transform Your Life. Find Harmony And Balance With Dilyana Yoga.
Below LUV4All Interviews Dilyana Mileva: Founder of Dilyana Yoga.
Racine: Dilyana, your original goal was to be a lawyer. What caused the transformation that led you on a new path toward being a Yoga teacher?
Dilyana: I had just graduated from a University in Bulgaria with a Diploma in Law and I was in my internship in 1999, when I met an enlightened Master from whom I took an Initiation into the process of meditation in the ancient method, Quan Yin. I started meditating every day for two hours and a half, and became a vegetarian. By that time, I had begun my practice as a lawyer, but in my first year I felt that there was something more that I needed to explore out in the world, and that my mission had changed.
Racine: Did you leave Bulgaria to fulfill that quest?
Dilyana: Yes, that inner pursuit for a more spiritual path led to a desire to travel and discover my place in the world, and I came to realize that my career path as a lawyer was not fulfilling my aspirations. I came to Canada in 2003 and explored different opportunities to work, as well as studying at a University in Montreal. But then in 2008, I returned home to Bulgaria
Racine:How did you finally discover that the teaching of Yoga was your ultimate purpose?
Dilyana: In 2012, a friend of mine introduced to me the Buddhist method of Yoga that truly spoke to my heart, and ideally complimented my meditation. I moved back to Canada again in 2013 and while residing in Montreal, a vibrant metropolis of Quebec, I became interested in training as a Yoga teacher. So, in 2014, I enrolled at Aloha Yoga of Académie en Soi, a Registered Yoga School, and in 2015 I attained the 200 RYS Certification. I am certified in Hatha and specialize in Restorative Yoga, a therapy for back and neck problems.
However, my learning never ceases. And presently, I am exploring and learning ways to implement Ayurveda in my teaching, along with a plant-based diet, as my inclination and foremost objective is to empower and enrich the lives of those who come to me.
Racine: And eventually, you launched Dilyana Yoga in Vancouver.
Dilyana: Yes, wanting to see for myself the green living and eco-nature of what defines the West Coast spirit, I moved to Vancouver and in September 2017, I launched Dilyana Yoga–Private Holistic Yoga. My approach to teaching is welcoming, gentle and holistic, and I provide my clients with the techniques that lead them to improve their health, to manage chronic pain, and to achieve long-lasting results.
For I believe my purpose in using Yoga and other methodologies, is to empower my students to lead fulfilled lives by providing an environment conducive to their healing and growth. And I offer my knowledge and intention so clients feel motivated, safe to develop self-care, and achieve wellness.
Racine: Why a Private Yoga Therapy?
Dilyana: Group sessions have great merit and benefits; however, Dilyana Yoga aims to match specific needs with a specific path to success. Clients advance through a personalized program addressing their needs and objectives. After an initial dialogue and assessment, the holistic modalities are analyzed within that framework. Since the relief from symptoms of pain is just one facet of the journey towards self-healing, and I wish the benefits of Yoga to be sustained in the long-term, a personalized Yoga Roadmap to Wellness is drawn up specifically for each client.
What follows then is a private program that will include the structural yoga therapy style best suited to that individual. Additional elements, as required by the client, such as personal coaching, emotional clearing and self-inquiry techniques, meditation, body detox sessions, tailored menus and nutritional diet, can be aligned for ultimate results. I created Dilyana Yoga to bring holistic solutions to where the client is now, so Yoga and other holistic health services can also be effectively delivered to private residences, elder care centres, private clinics, holistic and wellness centers.
Racine: Any final words for us on why you are passionate about Yoga?
Dilyana: Yoga transformed my life, strengthened my body, and helped me gain mastery of my intellectual and emotional self. With the practice of Yoga, and by developing my own approach, I have become increasingly grounded, and in harmony with all. Seeing these results in me, I know they are possible and in fact–at hand’s reach–to everyone. My deepest desire is that when my students step off their mats. they feel refreshed and energized, yet tranquil, with every posture guiding them to breathe-in, introspect, filter in and out…then rejuvenate! Yoga can and will lead to … transformation.
